SEARCH FOR PLANT INFORMATION BY CATEGORY
This section of the website contains an extensive, and ever growing, information tree that is designed to assist a range of Central Coast clients needs. Engineers will find indigenous plant species suggestions for street trees, erosion control, windbreaks and much more. There are a range of landscaping suggestions and flower colours and times for the home gardeners.

Botanists will be able to search for plants by family and Bush Regenerators can search by plant community. There is an alphabetical list of botanical names and many of the plants on these lists will be hypertext linked to plant profile pages.

There are also indigenous plants for specific soil types, aspects and difficult situations. Problem plants have a section devoted to them as well.

This site is under construction and will be for some time. As you can probably imagine there is a lot of information to enter and thousands of links to be made. The status of each selection field will be updated to the right of the field.

Each category on the right of this page will take you to another list of options and so on until you reach a list of plants for a specific question you have asked. Some of the plants will have black hypertext botanical names that will take you to a plant profile page for that species. For example choose 'Plant Communities', then choose 'Beach plants', then choose 'Hind Dunes' and you will have a list of plants found naturally in hind dunes on the Central Coast of NSW. Click on the 'Banksia serrata' link to go to its profile page.

Disclaimer: This information is very old and was put together in another form well over 10 years ago. I apologise and warn users for any errors and ommissions I've made, plant name changes since then and my plant communities (based on Beadle) were long before LCCHREMS. The plan is to update all of the synonyms after all of the old data has been put up so that it can be done once as a global operation on the site. Lastly I will put up a section on "Synonyms".
